Beer and wine making are becoming more and more popular as a home activity. Many people find that making their own beer and wine is not only fun, it can be a great way to create a drink that exactly suits their tastes. Furthermore, homemade wine and beer can make a great gift for both family and friends.

Beer and wine making are two different processes. Beer requires that hops and barley be cooked and fermented, while wine is made from crushed grapes that have to undergo multiple fermentation processes. However, it is not uncommon for people to make both products at home, and with great success.

Most brewer supply outlets will sell both beer and wine making equipment and ingredients. Starter kits can often be found for both types of alcohol production. Once the process is mastered, it is not uncommon for people to start experimenting with custom recipes.
